Then we had a webcam chat with Max's Mum, Dad and brother Aaron. It was so nice to see them, if slightly hilarious as they have no speakers so were having to share one pair of headphones between three. But it blew our minds that they were right there, looking like they look, and with not too hideous a delay.
Because I was still feeling all funny after our chat, we retired to the sofa and had another afternoon of West Wing fun before heading back up towards Chevy Chase to watch 'Sex & The City'.
The screen we saw it in is a fancy one with big leather seats - a bit like The Electric in London - and there's a bar outside too, but it wasn't open when we went.
I didn't think very much of the movie, unfortunately. I was hoping to really enjoy getting to watch a 2 hour episode of S&TC. But it was just kind of boring and episodic and Max put his finger on it when he said it reminded him of the Spice Girls' reunion - everyone was just a bit too old and disinterested.
On the way home, we stopped off in Dupont for supper at Afterwords, which is a cafe attached to Kramer Books, just down the road from our apartment. It's a really cool place - all dark and atmospheric and we had tasty food there. It shall replace Raku as our impulse dining option near Dupont.
